Take a moment
to day dream about what the gardens in Paris must look like in
the spring. It is no wonder that the famous impressionist painter,
Claude Monet was so inspired by the burst of color that nature
alone could master. This necklace was influenced by the work
of Monet and his choice of subject, nature. Thin tubes of peyote
stitch, resembling stems and vines, twist softly around the neck
to close with a handmade button. The focal point is a sculptural,
3 dimensional Trumpet flower from which cascade thin tubes that
end in a burst of color and shape. The sculptural shapes at the
end of each tube give the impression of thistles. Instrumental
in my work is the use of a controlled color palette.
Now that I am
offering Monet Garden Necklace as a kit, I have designed six
wonderful palettes of color for your enjoyment. In making the
Monet Garden Necklace Kit you will be using Peyote, Herringbone,
and Brick stitches, along with surface embellishment techniques,
to create this stunning necklace.
