Sautoir Necklace©1998 by Cynthia RutledgeImagine the roaring twenties and the fabulous, long flowing garments that came from this exciting time. They required jewelry that set off the long sleek lines of these lighter and less encumbering fashions. Sautoir Necklace was inspired by some of the jewelry of that time. The result is a necklace that's long, flowing and dramatic. It is constructed with an off-loom weaving technique called square stitch. This stitch is used to create a series of patterned strips that are joined by multiple strands of beads. The multiple strands are then captured in the dramatic close of an incredible bead and extravagant fringe.
